the dreams of our buddies in the air of our home like water for a potted plant

today’s track appropriately manic
Thayer and I are playing a free sunbeam show at the Local in Saugerties on Wednesday, the 12th, RSVP here if u wanna come and by the way there are only two copies of our LP left online and only a small handful left at the merch table and that’s probably it for physical editions, you have been warned

need to start including something like this here:
if you like this project and want to keep it going, you can share it around, sign up for a premium membership, or just let me know
ferry to Bannerman's Island on July 4th heat advisory so many people wearing patriotic T-shirts with AI graphics
the older couple that led our tour frantically flipping through their laminated pages
that one man could buy an entire island and store his military surplus, both deeply old fashioned and eerily contemporary
sparkler smoke billowing out from our backyard, firework in the shape of a coffee cup
Mr. Tim's birthday party, gluten free cake off of a collard green leaf for a plate
Sunday night ripping late into the evening at Avalon, so fun to play, Izzy in the band, undeniable feeling of satiety when all the friends from the gig come sleep at my house, the dreams of our buddies in the air of our home like water for a potted plant
all of a sudden cast in a film and summoned to New Jersey for an extremely long day of waiting around on set
the script called for "beautiful woman with three synthesizers," still very amused that somehow I filled the role
had to take my full tailor measurements and send in pictures of my tattoos, hilarious and a little horrifying to confirm that my arms are indeed way longer than average
on the way down went to meet our friends' baby, realized I forgot my reel-to-reel at home, had to turn around and add another 90 minutes
so panicked and worried that I would be in trouble somehow for being late and absolutely no one cared or even really noticed I had arrived
wandered around the church and looked at all the people and all the items and all the gear, then I spent like three hours trying on different outfits that made me look like Terry Riley, shooting shit with the drag performer who - amusingly - played the priest
played my lap steel through delay pedals next to a Butoh dancer late into the night, the ceiling ruined and crumbling above me
real deal movie stars like thirty feet from me - never met the main guy but I did chat with his stand-in
herbal movie cigarettes smelled do delicious, wanted to smoke one so bad
4:30am arrival at the kinda weird hotel attached to the banquet hall, cranked that AC so hard, so loud
perhaps the best thing about doing something surreal and late into the night is the feeling of being spit out, that oily, iridescent sheen that mundane life takes on when your wig has been flipped, just the tiniest bit of alienation from reality
so much lawn mowing, crushing audiobooks and feeling very strong in my ass and grip, getting ready to play tight end
felt like the right decision to gently guide Lydia way from the violent night of loud car racing
then we had like sixty people at our house with a Nozlee surprise the first night the smoke got really bad
Bren purchased what felt like hundreds of dollars worth of fireworks only legal in Pennsylvania, we made a game out of yelling the name of each firework to the gathered people below, I would say something like "DAZZLING SPECTACLE" and they would yell back "DANCING TENTACLE?"
loudly hooting and dashing away from the blasts, a little edge of danger
then Gracelee served us all three ridiculously delicious flavors of ice cream she had spent all week whipping up, cold and sweet and everybody buzzing around and chatting
vintage asthma that reminded me of the smog blankets of my childhood, no wonder I was such a pudgy and lethargic child!
bear got into the trash, we tempted fate there by grilling 50 hot dogs
Cami and Nathan seeming to transporter beam into the lobby at the show that climate change kept empty
all the rest around our fire pit when we returned
for whatever reason filling three carts to their brims at Trader Joe's on the way to Vermont extremely funny
a dozen people in their 30s and a two-year-old who is very impressively capable of naming and discussing different types of birds
elaborate meals and multiple swim spots
dipped into a Grateful Dead themed bar to watch the last 30 minutes of the World Cup, then we snuck around the corner to get creemees - almost immediately spotted by the minivan full of our wives, caught maple handed
valiantly clocking a day in the office as best as I could from the screened in porch, no wifi anywhere, my phone heating to almost ridiculous levels to keep my video connected
logging off with only moments to spare so we could meet everyone for more creemees
at the floating bridge we mostly treaded water and talked about what the next few years look like for our parents
an enormous fire everyone jubilant and the giant wooden birthday card bubbling and crumbling into embers
a pair of eyeglasses accidentally chucked into the flames
our bellies full of homemade carrot cake cookie puss
bought a treadmill for the home
got extremely high from just standing on the edge of the crowd at the free Ghostface Killah show in Albany, kept laughing to myself about how the show would make a typical conservative shit themselves in terror
the wedding planner had me stand in the bushes and all my friends in attendance kept taking pictures of me through the ornamental grasses
did a heinous blend of "Rhythm of the Night" into "Blue Monday" and laughed the whole time
saw my friends from LA for all of five minutes
John and I making something even more beautiful, can you even believe it
water got into our utility room during the historic rainfall, shut the power to the house off, sat in the eerie quiet of the dark for a couple of hours, listening
full of love so happy to pick my wife up from the airport
offered oysters backstage at Newport Jazz
tired and sunburned, crossing the massive parking lot of a BJs wholesale to eat mozzarella sticks at an Applebee's
I raised my glass 10oz glass of piss beer
To life
But what about you? Does it also kind of feel like summer is a little too bountiful for you? Too many cucumbers to harvest? Have you done anything just a little dangerous lately?
