"astral projecting into flavortown" out now

new album of thursday zones out today on Sound as Language

My Big Break

good morning ~

today we’re very happy to release “astral projecting into flavortown,” a new compilation of the best tracks from this newsletter’s 2024 run. it’s up now on all the streamers and also for sale on Bandcamp, thanks to Sound as Language.

the resulting album is typically reflective and serene with vast expanses of calm, little pillows of piano and digital choirs on which you can rest the ring of your mind. but there are also a surprising number of drums and one notable techno-adjacent ripper, each track a pinhole portal into its own little hopeful world.

here’s a link:

here’s the album art:

a crude watercolor painting of a tugboat tooting down the Hudson River in an orange frame with a yellow background. text at the bottom: astral projecting into flavortown, my big break '24

and here’s a picture of me holding the original watercolor, haha:

a man in a crewneck sweater stands before a curtain of yellow danglers holding a watercolor painting of a tugboat that reads "astral projecting into flavtortown"

hope you enjoy! five bucks for an hour seventeen of music, not bad. plus it feels like a really nice token of the time we’ve spent here together in your inbox, a very pleasant accumulation.

conveniently Bandcamp also happens to be running a benefit today - their portion of every album sold will go to benefit MusiCares, an org that is helping musicians affected by the LA wildfires rebuild. and we’re continuing to donate all the proceeds from the new Friends Meeting track if you haven’t gotten that one yet. It’s a great day to buy music.

okay thanks so much for reading and listening and see you Thursday

xo,
